Awilda Marrero

According to NamUS, Connecticut currently has 170 open missing person cases. Here's one of them:

On the night of 4/6/09, Awilda Marrero, 43 years old, left her home in the area of Asnuntuck St. in Enfield, CT without her purse, cell phone or other personal belongings. She left wearing only a grey nightgown and a brown jacket. She didn't wear any shoes*. Awilda hasn't been seen or heard from since that night. There weren't any details about what could've caused her to leave so abruptly and without any personal belongings, even something simple as a pair of shoes.

Awilda is 5'1", 165lbs, brown hair and eyes, and she's of Hispanic/Latino origins. She has a scar on her upper right arm and pierced ears. She also has 2 tattoos, one located on her left butt cheek that has the name "Mike" and one located on her right knee/thigh area that has the name "Joel."

Contact Det. Michael Bailey of the Enfield P.D. at (860) 763-6400

*April in CT can go either way temperature wise. It can be 20 degrees or 60 degrees depending on the weather. I'm not sure if the night of her disappearance was a cold one or not, but the lows are still in the 40's overnight which would make it very uncomfortable to walk around without footwear.

Gary Lynn Mullinax

According to NamUS, Arkansas currently has 176 open missing person cases. Here's one of them:

Gary Lynn Mullinax, only 21 years old, was last seen on Mother's Day on 5/9/76 when he was visiting with his parents in Benton, Arkansas. He was supposed to visit with his 3 month old daughter later that day, but told his parents he was going to meet someone and would be back in an hour. He never returned and was never seen or heard from again.

A few days after his disappearance, Gary's 1970 AMC Javelin green coupe with Arkansas license plates, was discovered on Asher Ave. in Little Rock, Arkansas with his wallet and keys still inside. The location was near his brother-in-law's shop building. He was separated from his wife at the time of his disappearance. His family stated that it was unusual for him to leave without warning. The Benton P.D. didn't have the initial missing person report on Gary, since they didn't keep any records prior to 1981.

Gary is 5'4"-5'6", 140-160 lbs., brown shoulder length hair, brown eyes and was known to wear dressy type clothing. He had been in a car accident that caused his jaw to be broken and wired shut, and he also had broken his leg in a fall from a tree years prior to his disappearance.

John Melvin Wipert

According to NamUS, Alaska currently  has 166 open missing person cases. Here's one of the cases:

John Melvin Wipert was 60 years old when he disappeared on 6/15/09 along with 2 horses from the Ptarmigan Lodge located in Northway, Alaska. The lodge is about 8 kilometers from the U.S.-Canadian border near Beaver Creek, Yukon. The lodge owners notified authorities and a search of the area was conducted by foot and by air. A 2 week aerial search by the Alaska State Troopers yielded no answers or clues to the whereabouts of John or the horses. Lodge guides described the terrain as difficult to travel with few trails and many boggy areas, making it easy to get lost.

John is 5'8", 190lbs, with blue eyes, a beard and mustache.

Introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Holli, I'm 31 years old and was studying criminal justice at Tunxis Community College in Farmington, CT. I currently live in Wallingford, CT. I haven't finished school yet but I am extremely interested in all things crime related. I know there's plenty of websites and blogs dedicated to missing people but the way I look at it is the more exposure the better. I'm also going to start an unsolved cases blog, but I'm going to see how this one goes first. All the information I will be providing is from the Internet and I will try to give credit to whatever sites I use. I'm mostly going to be using NamUS. I hope this helps to make more people aware, and I hope to help the families by spreading information about their missing loved ones. One person can make a difference. One person can be the link needed. Please, if you have any information on any cases I talk about, don't hesitate to pass it along. Remember, you can always remain anonymous! Thanks!

I'm going to start with Alabama since it's the first state alphabetically. I'm choosing cases at random to profile. I'm going to try to post one a day, but we'll see what happens. I'm going to do a different state every post. Any questions or comments can be sent to hollihathaway1@gmail.com
